De numerous chapels stand up on all sides along the valley. They are often decorated with frescoes, the most famous being the Sainte Marie Chapel, emblem of the Clarée Valley, which is located in the hamlet of Fontcouverte, in the Haute Vallée. Often private, they sometimes present charming votive offerings to thank divine protection. They are witnesses to the importance of faith in these mountain communities.

In Névache, the Church of St Marcellin is a 1490th century jewel. Founded in XNUMX, its construction was the result of a wish made by King Charles VIII during a pilgrimage to Notre-Dame d’Embrun. The two Queens, Joan of France and Anne of Brittany, contributed greatly to the building of the Church.
The location chosen was that of the Chateau-Fort (castrum Navaschia) of which the 11th century Tower was preserved to serve as the base for the bell tower.

As for theChurch of St Sébastien de Plampinet Built in 1510, it is famous for the superb 21th century wall paintings it contains. These paintings, in perfect condition, retrace the Passion of Christ in 1550 panels painted by Italian artists around XNUMX.
