Occupying a strategic position at 1326m above sea level, the upper town of Briançon, perched on a rocky peak, stands out as a unique site of mountain fortifications. Enclosed in ramparts designed by Vauban, it is crowned by high-altitude forts making it impregnable.
Briançon is located at the convergence of five valleys: Haute-Durance, Guisane, Clarée, Ayes and Cerveyrette.
Briançon is only 25 min drive from The Clarée Valley and the village of Nevache.
