Briançon: Vauban city listed as UNESCO World Heritage

Labeled City of Art & History since 2008, Briançon is on the list of Unesco World Heritage under its Vauban fortifications. This majestic and imposing site allows us to understand the genius for adaptation demonstrated by Louis XIV's famous military engineer.
Although a significant part of these works was executed after his death, they were carried out according to his principles until 1734.
It is for this reason that the fortifications of Vauban in Briançon are now included on the prestigious list of Unesco World Heritage, alongside 11 other sites.
