Village resort Névache in the Clarée valley
La Clarée, a Wild and Preserved Valley
A preserved corner of paradise still exists in the Southern Alps on the Italian border: the Clarée Valley. This is where you will discover our chalet hotel.
Named after the transparent river that runs through it, it is located in the north of the Hautes-Alpes department, near Briançon. It is punctuated by small typical villages: la Vachette, le Rosier, Val-des-Prés, Plampinet, and Névache (1600 m above sea level), the last village in the valley, located 18 km from Briançon.
Beyond that, the road continues for another 12 km, crossing the jewel that is the Haute Vallée de la Clarée, to end in the middle of the mountain at an altitude of 2000 m. It is this natural setting which serves in particular as filming location for the series “Alex Hugo”.
Névache, an authentic alpin village
An ancient mountain village, Névache is located on the Italian border and near Briançon. Its trace has been found for centuries: Névache comes from the word Annevasca which first appeared in 1, and which means “Snowy Valley” in the pre-Celtic or Ligurian language.
It has around 350 inhabitants, and is made up of a succession of 7 hamlets over a total area of 19000 hectares, including the Vallée Étroite, a small French enclave on the Italian side, and the marvelous Haute Vallée de la Clarée.
